My Brothers:
We now have started a new year and all looks like the Lodge will be having a good year. I for one am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible during the coming year. We have been having really good meals before the meetings and if you haven’t been to the Lodge for a while you don’t know what you are missing. I would like to ask all of you to let us know if you know of one of our members that is having troubles that the Lodge can help them with Please let us know. It is always disappointing when we need to drop someone for Non-Payment-Of-Dues.
Here’s hoping all will have a good year.
Vernon “Mike” Nolan PM.
Secretary
My Brothers One and All,
This letter is to inform you the heating and air conditioning system (HVAC) in the lodge room meeting area is in need of emergency replacement. It will no longer heat, is old and has been determined beyond reasonable repair costs. Available funding for it’s replacement is minimal as our emergency account has become depleted do to necessary replacement of the HVAC system in the dinning/kitchen area last year and, due to having to have a new roof installed just a few years ago. Your lodge officers continue to do all they can to keep down lodge costs. However, waiting for the funding to materialize through the normal process is not realistic.
Therefore the Lodge Finance committee has recommended the following action:
Request each member commit to and donate $50 each year for two years to the Emergency funds account. For those who find it necessary this total sum may be paid throughout the year.
If this recommendation is successful, the results will fund the purchase and installation of the necessary HVAC, restore minimal funds in the emergency account and help avoid this type of request in the future.
The above request was only made after other options proved fruitless. Therefore we do not make this request lightly. But, we do need to know what we will have to work with so we can proceed with this necessary maintenance issue.
Your support is fraternally requested and appreciated. Please forward your donations to the lodge Secretary, PO Box 403, Middleburg, Fl. 32050-0403
If you have any question please call me at 291-5897.
May we love one another in the bonds of union and friendship!
Paul Lee,
Worshipful Master
